But you have people on here in all seriousness being like “if you ship two characters who are related somehow then you are a bad person because that would be bad in real life”, and then when somebody says “but it’s not in real life though” they’re like “bitpch!!!!! FICTION AFFECTS REALITY!”
Like yeah, it does, but that doesn’t mean that exploring something in fiction is a fucking real-world endorsement of it. There are immature folks on here who can’t differentiate between enjoying things in fiction and thinking that they are healthy in real life, and honestly, that failure to understand the relationship between fiction and the real world and the role that exploration of fantasy scenarios can play for people says more about them and their lack of understanding and empathy than it does about people who ship Dersecest or whatever.
